Loki's To-Do List

1. Have lots of little squid babies with the squid in the lake
2. Rid the bar of the rat investation by placing a great deal of rat traps around on the floor
3. Find a way to give Coulson a permanent death
4. Same for Jim Moriarty
5. Humiliate Teja, son of Tagila
6. Find a suitable home for the squid babies
7. Seek a conversation with the first son of Eleanor Holmes
8. Get out of this horrible cage. And then bathe and maybe have his hair cut.
9. Control this realm and all who inabit it.
10. Destroy Asar-Suti
11. Trick Coulson into bringing the Kraken to Midgard

Seiðr

Loki has had some time to calm down. Being in his own space, away from the comings and goings of everyone else (and far away from the annoying drunk who seems to think he lives in one the cells downstairs) has helped matters. And there are still the usual parade of guards coming to deliver meals, but for the most part, they let him keep to himself.

The room he's in now is small, but it's private and comfortable at least. There's a desk along one wall, which is where he's at now, quietly writing out a very long list in a language that has been long-forgotten on Midgard; his fingers stained with ink and his sleeves rolled up to his elbows. There was paper and a pen within the desk, but Loki doesn't trust it. The paper is fragile and the pen makes no sense to him, so he's saved the headache and conjured his own in forms that are familiar to him: heavy parchment and a deep inkwell. For as old and advanced as Asgard is, there are still some aspects that remain hideously outdated by the standards of men. But Asgard is a society of warriors. Those few scholars within the realm are outcast, ergi, and almost universally distrusted. And Loki has been no exception.

The only difference with Loki is that many fear him too much to ever dare insult him. But he sort of likes it that way.

New Chambers

Getting moved from the cells had been... an experience. Loki had every plan of taking advantage of the situation and cloaking himself before fleeing, but then that Banner woman showed up, so the plan changed to just opening antagonising them as much as possible without getting thrown through a wall.

The first thing he did upon finally being locked in what had become his new chambers was not to test it against magic or try to escape. No. The first thing he did was to do exactly as he had been denied down in the cells and bathe. Even during expeditions to Svartalfheim, Loki has never felt quite so in need of hot water and soap in his life. With his hair still wet, he conjured a pair of shears that he was fairly certain he wasn't allowed to have (not that he cared) and hastily cut off the frayed and matted ends of his hair.

Whoever readied these chambers for him at least seemed to understand that their new resident was not from Midgard. While the minimal clothing provided is that of a peasant's, it is still Asgardian and familiar to him.

Dressed, clean, and with hair that will still be getting in his face, though perhaps not so badly, Loki's next course of action was to sleep. Which he did. For about four days straight. He had not realised just how badly he needed the rest until he lay down.

When Loki finally wakes, it's with a muffled sense of confusion. There's a brief moment when he thinks he's back in his chambers in the palace, but it doesn't last long. Nothing about these chambers resembles Asgard. The feeling passes, and looking round, Loki finds that while he was asleep, someone has serviced the room. There is a pitcher of water on the small table near the bed, along with some dried meats and a book. The book, Loki realises at once, is someone's idea of a joke. And he has to admit, it is one he appreciates.

He pours himself some of the water and picks up the Edda, curious to see just what the mortals have been reading about himself and his family.

Still in the cells. Nothing is new.

Loki has been doing his best to ignore those around him, but it's become increasingly difficult. This place is open to any who wish to come stare at him in this cage, and then those who keep him here wonder why he remains in such a foul temper.

He has heard no news since Sally Donovan left him last. Perhaps the mermaid has eaten her. If that were the case, Loki would at least get some amount of satisfaction from knowing that one of his jailers has been dispatched.

By the lake

Loki has mostly been keeping to the area around the lake since his escape from that damnable cage. The few times he has ventured back indoors have been met with conflict and anger, so it is much safer to remain outside.

Not only safer for himself, but for his children in the lake. It will still be some time before they hatch and become able to defend themselves, so for now, Loki keeps watch out for any who may wish to do them harm. He saw no predators that might do so within the lake, but it is not those within the lake he fears. The father of his children is more than capable of frightening off any curious fish that may wander too close for comfort.

Loki has made many enemies in his time, and there are few he would trust not to harm his children. It is those for which Loki keeps a vigilant eye, prepared to do what it takes to keep them away from what is his.

In the cells

It's been just over a week since Loki was put in this cage, and four days since he's said a word to anyone. He hardly sleeps, and when he does, it's fitfully, shivering as though pierced through by unbearable chill.

He does nothing but sit in the corner of this cage, drawn in on himself. He seems to have aged considerably in this last week. Perhaps the time here, lost in his own thoughts with no real distraction, is taking its toll on him. Or perhaps he has been too long out of Asgard, too long away from Idunn and her shiny apples.
